This example retail store provides an insight into how individuals connected to the store, through their aka, could securely and safely share and update their personal information. The store is no longer responsible for the maintenance of that personal information and is relieved of some of the burden related to GDPR and the control of personal data. The individual aka user is the data controller.
The store would be able to request that the user add additional personal information to their account in order to tailor the shopping experience. Information such as shoe size, body measurements and other personal information that would enrich an indvidual's shopping experience.
This information requested by the store, would be written back to the individuals aka account and maintained by the individual to either share with other stores or stop sharing altogether.
Arguing that you don’t care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don’t care about free speech because you have nothing to say
